March 9 and 10

Saumurban Trail

The Saumurban Trail is a foot race crossing the historic heart of Saumur and its surroundings. And this year, Nordic walking participants will cross, for the first time, the Château la Comtesse de Loire park! This trail offers participants a unique experience, mixing sport, culture and discovery of local heritage.

From March 28 to 31

Saumur Voltige

The 35th edition of Saumur Voltige will be held in the Grand Manège at the IFCE – Cadre Noir de Saumur. Vaulting combines emotions, dance and spectacle. These competitions are, for the public, truly breathtaking shows. It is also the equestrian discipline which has brought France the most medals in recent years.

National Book and Wine Days

The National Book and Wine Days are a unique event of its kind, combining the pleasure of reading with that of wine tasting. Every year, this cultural event brings together writers, poets, winegrowers and lovers of literature and wine at the Théâtre du Dôme, the Chapelle Saint-Jean, the Saumur Town Hall and on the Bateau Saumur Loire. Participants have the opportunity to meet authors, attend signing sessions, conferences, tasting workshops and literary competitions. Beautiful literature in the spotlight!

April 19, 20 and 21

The Spring of the Squires

Le Printemps des Écuyers marks the awakening of the Cadre Noir gala season with an exceptional equestrian show, offered by the elite of the National Riding School. This event celebrates renewal and equestrian virtuosity through performances that combine harmony, discipline and elegance. Spectators are invited to discover the finesse of classic dressage, show jumping and high school figures, performed by the riders and their mounts in a masterful ballet.

The Loire Marathon

The Loire Marathon offers an exceptional running experience along the picturesque banks of the Loire. This event features multiple races, including a marathon, half marathon, and canoe-running combo, providing options for all levels of endurance and interest. 42 musical events punctuate the Marathon route, making this event a unique event in France.

From June to September

FestiVini

FestiVini embodies the spirit of celebration in the heart of the Saumur vineyards, inviting amateurs and connoisseurs to explore the region's wine wealth. This annual event offers a series of gourmet and educational activities. Participants can immerse themselves in the world of wine through guided tastings, workshops, meetings with winemakers, as well as hiking, cycling and even horseback riding in the vineyards. FestiVini is also an opportunity to discover food and wine pairings through thematic dinners, highlighting the local culinary heritage.

Effervescences

The Effervescences festival is a rich, sparkling concept full of surprises! A nod to the history of traditional Saumur bubble houses, Effervescences also symbolizes beautiful moments of sharing, conviviality and pleasure with family, friends and lovers. Night markets, Music Festival, concerts, shows, outdoor cinema sessions, wooden games, highlights like Summerise, Station Jazz, Rock Session, Baila Comingo or Back to the kitsh... Not to be missed!

Anjou Vintage Bike

Anjou Vélo Vintage is a unique cycling experience in Europe which transports its participants to the Belle Epoque and the discovery of the treasures of Saumur. This annual event celebrates the charm of cycling in all its forms, especially those of yesteryear, by inviting cyclists to ride vintage bicycles and dress in period outfits. On routes that wind through the picturesque landscapes of vineyards, castles and historic villages, the event offers total immersion in a retro atmosphere to more than 10,000 participants. Beyond the hike, Anjou Vélo Vintage is punctuated with festivities, a huge retro village, concerts and swing dance classes which welcome a total of nearly 50,000 people. An invitation to experience a timeless adventure.

International Rose Days

With the international rose days, take part in four days of celebration in the famous arenas of Doué-la-Fontaine and their troglodytic cellars with the program: the international floral art competition, demonstrations around the rose and advice from professionals, musical entertainment, the competition for the most beautiful garden rose and an exhibition of garden roses in troglodyte cellars.

Saumur Carousel

The Carrousel de Saumur is a unique event of its kind which skillfully combines military demonstrations, equestrian presentations, and parades, attracting spectators from all over France and elsewhere. The Carrousel highlights the know-how and excellence of different units of the French army, particularly those linked to cavalry and horse riding, through high school exercises, historical reenactments and sporting competitions. This event is also an opportunity to celebrate the historical link between Saumur, its prestigious Cadre Noir, and equestrian art, in a spirit of tradition and modernity.

From July 31 to August 1

The Grandes Tables

The Grandes Tablées de Saumur transform the streets of Saumur into a huge open-air dining room. Participants gather around long tables to share a meal highlighting local products and regional wines. It is a celebration of gastronomy and conviviality, inviting locals and visitors to discover local flavors in a warm and festive atmosphere.

From September 13 to 15

Saumur Loire Festival

The Saumur Loire Festival is an event celebrating the culture and river history of the Loire, highlighting the region's traditional boats. Participants will have the chance to sail on these historic boats, exploring the Loire and Saumur in a unique way. The heart of this event, the Village Marine de Loire, will present local crafts, traditions and navigation professions. A tavern set up on the quays will offer local specialties, live music and a festive atmosphere. The festival will offer various activities, with concerts every evening, notably the Ruda Salska performance on Saturday, for an experience combining ska music and the spirit of the banks of the Loire.
